The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the City Government of Davao (CGD) invite all interested local and international bus operators to participate in the market-sounding phase for the Bus Operator Contract of the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project (DPTMP), also known as the Davao Bus Project.

The DOTr, CGD, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are working together on this project, which will replace the existing ‘Jeepneys’ and ‘Filcabs’ with more than 1,000 full-sized modern single-deck buses, including at least 300 18m articulated battery electric buses. These buses will operate on a network of 29 routes covering 670 km of roads in the city and its surrounding areas, with five (5) new depots to be established. The new system is estimated to serve around 800,000 passengers per day and will include 32 km of bus lanes, traffic signal priority, and other bus priority measures once fully implemented.

The market-sounding phase will assess the level of interest from local and international investors in the Davao Bus Project and discuss the project’s structure. Any existing Bus Operator, whether Philippine-based or international, is invited to inquire and/or submit comments to dptmp@dotr.gov.ph.
